Level of Care
Rico is a bed to bed service and will set up ambulances to and from the airport. Our medical staff consists of highly trained nurses and paramedics with at least 3 years critical care experience and both are required to maintain:
• Basic Life Support/CPR
• Advanced Cardiac Life Support/ACLS
• Pediatric Advanced Life Support/PALS
• Advanced Trauma course (TPATC, ATLS, ATCN, or equivalent)
Nurses are required to maintain one of the following advanced certifications:
• Certified Emergency Nurse/CEN• Critical Care Registered Nurse/CCRN
• Certified Flight Registered Nurse/CFRN
• Certified Transport Registered Nurse/CTRN
Paramedics must maintain the following certification:
• Certified Flight Paramedic/FP-CAll medical staff is required to attend quarterly training to maintain proficiency in skills as well as remain current in treatment modalities and procedures.
Rico pilots are required to have:• ATP (Airline Transport Pilot) rating
o highest level of aircraft pilot rating in the United States.
• Annual recurrent simulator training consisting of:
o In-flight emergency procedures
o Safety
o General knowledge of all aircraft systems
• Minimum of 3500 hours of total aircraft time
